Tommy was a large man with an even larger appetite. He just longed for one of his mother鈥檚 steak and kidney puddings!
As he sometimes helped out in the mess and received some reward in kind, he decided that he would do his best to make this gourmet dream come true. Sure enough some meat (could it have been Camel?) came into the mess and Tommy offered to make this delicacy for himself and his mates. Flour, fat etc was produced and deftly Tommy moulded his 鈥榩ud鈥�; but what to boil it in? He rummaged through his belongings and found the very thing. Later on the piece-de鈥攔esistance was displayed and served. Hungry 鈥淭ommies鈥� gathered round drooling. One clever chap asked the inevitable; 鈥渨hat did he boil it in?鈥� Without batting an eyelid Tommy replied nonchalantly 鈥渕y underpants鈥� Needless to say he enjoyed a large part of the pud just for himself, overlooking to add that they were new ones.
