8 May 1945 — VE Day
My father - serving in the Royal Navy based on the Island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Rank CPO Telegraphist

Headmistress - Miss Bird Teachers — Miss Powell, Miss Gibbs, Mrs McKenzie, Miss Lobb. (I was in Miss Gibbs’ class).

I left Mount Tamar school at the end of the summer term in July 1945 and started at Warrens School (North Hill0 in September 1945. What I have detailed above is what I can still remember of my primary school days.
