My mother (Dilys) was stationed at ringway aerodrome (now Manchester Airport) her main occupation was working on Lancaster bombers at the aerodrome. She mainly worked on bomb door operations. She used to tell me of the great feeling of doing something for the war effort.

My mother still lives in Manchester near the airport.

Her name is now Farrar having married in 1970s.

My father is Alexander (Joe) who she may just after the war. My father died when I was ten, so he could not tell me any of his war stories even though he did serve in the army. He actually met my mothers brother (Trevor Rees) in the army and he introduced my father to my mother.
