I joined my first ship Factory Ship "Southern Princess (Sunk by U600 17th March 1943) in May 1940 and then the "City of Newcastle" followed by two Anglo Saxon tankers "Dolabella" and "Donax" (sunk by U143 on 7th Oct. 1942)
I was then sent "on loan" to the Admiralty and trained for H/F D/F and served in this capacity on "Cairnvalona" followed by three Rescue Ships
"Bury", "Goodwin" and "Fastnet". At the end of the war I did one trip on "Thomas Holt"
I would particularly like to hear from anyone who served on Rescue Ships, or who had anything to do with H/F D/F
