I was born on the 5th July 1923 in Catford, South East London. I left school aged 14 and went to work in a butchers shop to larn the 'trade'. I soon tired of this and as I was interested in Cinema & film I got a job as a cinema projectionist trainee with the ABC circuit. In 1941 I joined the Navy. I married Peggy in 1944 & we had 3 wonderful daughters who have given us 8 Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren. We have been married for 61 years & we now live in Ilfracombe in Devon.
