Towards the end of my father. Robert Sloan's life, my mother showed me the letters which he had written home between 1939 - 1943 when serving with the Royal Signals. Although I read them in the presence of my father he was by that time suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and was not able to discuss them. He talked very little about his war time experiences in earlier years. I now have the letters and the recent 大象传媒2 programmes recreating the evacuation from Dunkirk prompted me to read the letter written druing May and June 1940. Extracts from these have been posted on this website.
