Egerton Telecottage is a modern computer centre based in the small village of Egerton, near Ashford in Kent. It is a UK On Line Centre, run by volunteers for Egerton Parish Council and aims to help people of all ages living in the surrounding villages and hamlets to get access to computers and training.
The Centre opens on a drop in basis every Saturday morning and provides helpful, friendly advice as well as training courses in basic computer skills and packages such as word processing, spreadsheets, desk top publishing and digital photography. It also runs a local Film Society which shows films every month.
The telecottage helps local groups and societies to promote their activities and is keen to help people with memories of the war and other local history to record their stories on the Internet.A social evening was held on 29 July when 7 veterans and people who lived through the war met volunteers who helped to record their stories for the WW2 website. A picture of the event is on our website.
