It seems I am getting a little dig from the 大象传媒 in not posting some details about myself, well here goes.
I was born in 1938 and in 1939 our family moved to Bletchley Park, Station X to a lot of people, when I say we moved to Bletchley Park that is exactly what I mean, we lived in Number 2 Cottage, up behind the Mansion and my brother, two sisters and I became known as 'The Children of the Park'. Faye my sister who now lives in Australia (shame about the Rugby) made a 'Wall Hanging' which now hangs in the Mansion and we were invited to attend the opening of the Park when the Duke of Kent opened the Museum.
Dad (Robert Budd or Bob Dad died 22nd October 1969 and Mum 14th February 1985)worked in the Park during the war years, in fact someone wrote a small poem called 'A BLETCHLEY ALPHABET' and passed on through a Mrs. Sharp, thank you, under 'B' it says:-
"B is for Budd, the head of Hut Two
Who hands out the wallop to me and to you
When the Park closes down the last man to go
Will be Mr. Budd, at least we hope so."
What all that was about I will never know, Dad never said much about our time in the Park, I do know we never left the place until 1949 and from the time the war ended Mum and Dad ran the 'Club House' which was next to the Mansion, Hut 4 I beleive which was the Navy Intelligence Hut.
Well since then I have been all over the place, went to school at the Royal Hospital School near Ipswich, then the Royal Navy, after that I went into the Inspection Industry, North Sea and all that, various jobs around the world and for the past 13 years we have lived in a little place called Amanzimtoti (Sweet Water in Zulu, more like thick coffe really) which as you can see is in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
Well I think that covers it for now.
Regards.
