No Rifles No equipment for work. Borrow from Army. Had French Carbines taken from Ansirane Airdrome 303 bullet from Army fitted them. 2nd. part invasion Majunga went ashore in ALC. Went by lorry to Antanarive to Ivato Airadrome.fording rivers sleeping in Malgasy huts. Then Tamatave by Stephensons rocket, wood burning train. Caught a cyclone there.Worked my passage in the galley back to Diego Saurez. Flew in Dakota to Mombasa , during which the door flew off. On to Kisuma Catalina. Then to WAAF camp Nairobi. Then flew over Kilimagao in a Rapid DeHaviland to Cairo transit camp. Then to 258 wing Ein Shemer Palestine. Next trip was to Bahrain because thehad all gone down with pricly heat. Next Port Said on to boat to Hyeres in France on to train 40 men or 8 hoses , to to Diepe via Paris home to Newhaven fortnights leave then to Cambridge No 10 Tech Command then to Farnborough for a City & Guilds course, demob came up I came out. Six years. I did no square bashing no trade test. 2 guards 3 fire pickets 1/2 day on the range with a Lee Enfield same with a Sten Gun Sum total of my trining in 6 years. Any body beat that. Tony
