My mum was four and a half when war was declared in 1939. She was evacuated to the North of England. Although she was very young at the time, she has a lot of memories of this period in her life. She often thinks and talks about them. I think it is important to record her thoughts and memories. I hope her story along with many others will be kept as part of history and as a constant reminder to others of the sacrifices people made during war time.
