My mother, two uncles, grandmother and grandfather, who were born and raised in Poland, came to settle in the UK following World War II. However, the circumstances that led to their coming to this country, and very many like them, appear to be known only to those who were directly affected and their families. Sadly, out of those in my family who were deported, only my uncles survive. Now well into middle age myself, I feel obliged to relate their story before it is lost for all time. It is yet another example of Man's inhumanity to Man.
