I went to the above school in Harpurhey from 1941 to 1947 then went to North Manchester Grammar School until 1955, where I was known as Teddy Butcher.
On joining the army in 1955 I reverted back to Ted Atkins. I served in the forces for 9 yesrs with the 17/21st Lancers (Death or Glory boys) now known as The Queens Royal Lancers.
I served in Germany, Hong Kong, Aden, Bahrein, Persian Gulf, Kuwait and Borneo.
On leaving the forces I have lived in Manchester, Oldham, Rossendale, Blackpool and Bolton.
I worked in sales and management for most years before setting up my own driving school, which I ran until I retired so now most of my time is spent doing computer courses or going on holiday.
I would like to hear from any old friends from school or army.
