I was in the 6S5 intake of boys to the Electrical and Wireless School, Cranwell, in 1935.
After a period in No. 9 (Bomber) Squadron in Stradishall and Honnington I inaugurated the system helping bombers home by the provision of direction finding signals which would not be available to enemy bombers.
Other assignments included command of wireless stations at Greenford and Bodmin.
Crossing the channel by landing barge with a special unit took me, eventually, to Luneburg Heath.
Leaving the RAF in 1946 I started civilian life at the bottom in industry/commerce retiring in 1979 as Managing Director of a large international company.
Now I live in my bungalow in a Continuing Care Community in Yorkshire.
