My husband and I, having lived during the war, are very interested in the history of it and, of course, the events which affected us.

I was only 18 months old when the war started and so my memories of the early part are by proxy (including my story 'Fletcher's Luck' about my father's escape from a bomb at Detling airfield and mine when our house at Maidstone was damaged by a bomb during the Battle of Britain)

My husband was called up and served three years as a Sapper at the end of the war and for two years afterwards, stationed at Gibraltar

We now live at Hailsham in East Sussex and our family of two boys and two girls and eight grandchildren are spread around the Country but happily not abroad, so that I can race up the motorway to see each of them occasionally
