I contributed to WW2 because the war was part of my formative years. It has helped mould who I am. Sixty years on I feel it is important to share my experience, even though I was only a child then, so that my grandchildren and others know what it was like. My roots are very deep in Kent and the War years were a significant part of Kent history - and I was there!
Although I have lived in UK all my life, it is sad to me that for a variety of reasons I have not lived in Kent since my childhood, but as the old saying goes, "You can take the child out of the county, but you can't take the county out of the child!"
