I have become interested in WW2 recently while finding my father's diaries which he wrote while a POW. I am amazed at the age of the young pilots in WW2, my own father being 19 when he joined the RAF and only 23 when he was shot down over Germany and remained a POW for 14 months until the end of the war.
Unfortunately my father now has Alzheimers and remembers little of his experiences.
I have only recently found out about 156 squadron via their web page. I have typed out the war diaries and would be willing to share them with any other interested person, or museum.
