I am currently tracing my family history, my grandfather Sergant David Llewellyn Morgan (Taffy Morgan)served in WW2. He was a number one gunner in F Troop 446/67th Field regiment R.A. he served in the North African campaign and is buried in Anzio he died in 1944. I am lucky to have letters, postcards of Taranto. I have a programme for Headquarters 1st division party that was held on 21st September 1943 and signed by the highest rank there. I also have a programme for the thanksgiving service held for the first army,the allies in north africa. Also in my possession is the programme of memorial, held near Rome on 11th June 1944 for my grandfather the 446Bty and for 265 and 266Bty. If anyone would perhaps like a copy of any of these featuring their relatives I would gladly do so. I would also like to know if anyone could help me, on some of my letters the address from my grandfather contained CMF, APO 4660 and kilmarnock in scotland would anyone be able to let me know where they are and would kilmarnock have been training?. While my grandfather was at war my grandmother Mrs Catherine May Morgan worked at the Royal Ordance Factory in Bridgend, south wales making the ammunition for my grandfather to fire. She travelled from Pontyrpidd to Bridgend in the buses that were provided my mum, an only child was five when the war broke out. It is only in the last 3 years since my mum moved that we found my grandfathers war letters my grandmother has been dead for 20 years and unfortunately she never had the chance to relate her stories to me, my mum being 72 can remember what the war was like for her but she was so young. There is a story regarding a certain Bill Knight who I know like my grandfather did not come back from the war. I would like anyone to contact me with either information or their story of fighting in North Africa and Anzio.
