I am investigating my family tree, and having spoken to my Aunt, am aware that she and my late father were evacuated to Pontypridd, from London during the war. The timing is very vague and I do not know where they were placed.

Dad has sadly passed away, and was not one to discuss his childhood. By all accounts it was very unhappy whilst he was in London and he would have wished to stay in Pontypridd, but had to return to London for an operation. I believe that he did retrun to the town after that, but was in the end forced (?) to return home by his mother.
He did come away with a great love of horses, Aunty seems to remember him riding to school on one.

I live in the West Midlands now and hope that I can make a trip one day to see what Pontypridd is like now. Any information about where to go to find out more in the area would be greatly appreciated.

Dad's name was Bill (William) March and he was born in 1930.
