I was born in 1936 and lived as a child in the centre of Norwich during the second world war experiencing the bombing of the City and other hardships during that time.
For obvious reasons the newspapers of the time printed only obscure reports of the events as they occured. There have been books published since the war about that period of Norwich's history, also records have been released for research purposes. These have proved useful as I try to clarify the memories of my childhood.
I honestly believe if any of the world leaders had shared my fears and experiences as a child during the bombing of my City, they would do as great deal more before authorising the bombing towns and cities throughout the world.
