I'm on this site to record the war time experiences of my mother, Phyllis Ashton nee Binns.
I was born in September 1945 some twelve months after her marriage and seven months after she was given a compassionate discharge because of her pregnancy.
I hope her background job of work is of interest as one of the thousands of support staff that were needed to fight the war.
