I lived in Vere St, Balsall Heath with Mom and Dad and a younger sister Brenda. Another sister, Sheila, was born in 1940. I am the eldest and along with my second eldest sister Marjorie was evacuated to Minchinhampton in Goucestershire in 1939.
We attended St Lukes school in Birmingham and it was from there that we were evacuated.
On our return we went to Hope St school as St Lukes had been bombed.
We were very involved with St Lukes Church and were members of the Brownies, Guides, and also in the drama group at the church - which we loved.
