I have a wonderful collection of my grandfathers photos from his time in Africa and the mediterranean with flying boats. I know he was downed once and lost many good friends so he would not talk about the war. He has passed away now and I live history and hope to study it at Unversity next year. I am researching for an extended essay I want to write on the non- atlantic coastal command activities.
I know my gradfather was certainly with squadrons 262 and 209. he was to my knowlwedge an engineer/ mechanic on Sunderlands and Catalinas. His surname was Maclean and his musical intrument was the pipes.
