I was born in 1938 in S E London and my father's firm moved to Wimbledon in 1940 to get away from the dockyard blitz. I was evacuated three times during the war, twice with my mother, and once with my elder brother Grahame, which was on or about the 17th July 1944.
From 1951 I went to Wimbledon Art School, did National Service as a Hospital Cook in the ACC. After which I went to the Royal Academy Schools in Burlington Gardens, London.
After spells of teaching art in various schools I came to live in Chertsey in Surrey. I serve on various voluntary committees and am known in the town for being a mural artist. I have a wife and three grown up daughters. I am a puppet enthusiast and at the time of writing am building a shadow puppet theatre.
