My father died some years ago and it was only after his death that I discovered the details of his service and his experiences during the Second World War. This included his experiences as part of operation 'Market Garden' and his role in the relief of the Bergen/Belsen concentration camp. It was this last experience that never left him and prompted me to travel to the remains of the camp in April of this year - 60 years to the day from when he walked through the gates.
I hope before this site closes to post excerpts from my father's diary as well as my own experiences and feelings from my visit earlier this year.
