I'm a history teacher and a school librarian and am currently researching my family history, the Lindsay side in particular. Of particular interest are anecdotes and photos which help bring the people to life.
Both my father and his brother served in World War II. David Donald Lindsay (RAF) was shot down over the Irish Sea (ironically he said he joined the RAF because he was afraid of drowning) so I never knew him. My father, Iain George Ninian Lindsay, served in the Royal Navy and saw service in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. As a child I knew little of his war record though he did begin to talk about it in his final years and had begun to write his memoirs before his death. He used to say that no-one would be interested in what he had to say - I wish he was still alive to see just how interested people are!
