Both my parents are from Poland, and the war greatly affected them in different ways. It wasn't until 1994, when my father took me back with him to Arnhem for the 50th anniversary of Market Garden, in which he participated by jumping into action with General Sosabowski's Parachute Brigade, that I became interested in Poland's contribution to WW2. Since then I have read numerous books and found out a lot, but never had the opportunity until recently to record my parents own lifestory. This I was able to do only recently, as they were both reluctant or unwilling to talk about it much. I have recently returned to Arnhem in 2004 for the 60th Anniversary, again with my father, where he was more relaxed to modestly talk about his experiences, which I have attempted to write. All the time he claims that he didn't achieve much and nothing really exciting happened to him that anyone would be interested in reading!
