Even as a young child I was aware that my Father had taken part in the war and that he had come out of it very much "worse for wear". It had a profound effect on his life.
When I heard the 大象传媒 had opened a web site for people to place stories about the war back in the summer I realised this was something I really wanted to do.
However I was a little worried I could not do his story justice and only now, rather late in the day have I made an attempt.
What I have written in two stories are merely fragments of the whole story. A story that deserved a far better scribe than Yours truly.
Thankfully my father is still alive and at 87, despite many ailments, retains all his faculties. He has a vivid memory and an uncanny talent for story telling.
When he begins a story he describes events, people and places with immense detail. It鈥檚 as if a film starts rolling in your minds eye. One can virtually see the scenes described and almost hear the characters involved.
It鈥檚 a story I will never forget.
I am grateful to the 大象传媒 for providing an opportunity to place this story on their special web site to keep for posterity.
