My experiences during the war are catalogued in my story, "The Day War Broke Out" I chose this title because it was the first line of one of Radio's most loved comedians during the first weeks of the war.
When the war ended our family was re-united. I later served two years National Service in the Rotal Artillery and after discharge joined the Essex Police for the next ten years transferring to the Metropolitan Police for the next twenty years. I retired to Devon in 1984.
