my mom is 82 now and she was stationed at an air force base in Portsmouth, I believe she was 18 at the time. She was Elsie Cheetham until she married my dad, Henry Martin. I know she worked with one other woman whose name escapes me. if anyone knows anything about any of this I'd love to hear from you. we are originally from Liverpool until we moved to America in 1953, dad was with Lloyds. thanks.
