My Grandfather Thomas Mackenzie was with the 51st Highland Division and captured at St Valery.
He was a POW at stalag xxa (Thorn, Poland) untill 1943.
I have two years of his diaries which he recored events of daily life.
In 1941 he worked on road construction and on farms, but in 1943 he did not work, and finally Oct 1943 he was repatriated.
