Left school in 1940 then in 41/42 I worked on high explosives airfield clearance before attending LTTC Radio College Earls Court. March - September 1943 I joined Merchant Navy Sept 43 as Marine Radio Officer serving with free Norwegians till Feb 46.
Torpedoed mid Atlantic 6/04/44 by U302 whilst serving aboard m.t.South America. Completed service in MN Jan 1952.Invited back to Norway in 1995 as guest of the Norwegian Government as one of 20 British veterans for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Norway.Being the only MN representative at this celebration.
