About the contributor

Donald Stepney
User ID: U752532

My name is Donald Stepney I served as an LSA in the Royal Navy during WW2
Vessels served on were HMS Brigadier, HMS Headingham Castle and briefly Oxford Castle.
HMS Brigadier prewar was the cross channel vessel SS Worthing that went from Newhaven to Dieppe. As Brigadier she was a Landing Ship Infantry and took part in the D Day landings.
I have photos of her as SS Worthing but none when she was HMS Brigadier, If anyone has such a photo I will be very pleased to hear from them.
I have two items on this site at present one is a reply to a query regarding the 'stone frigate' that was HMS Bristol, in Bristol in 1943. The other is 'My War 1039 - 1946.
