My name is Eric Denis Lumb, known has Denis aged 71 born and lived in Sheffield all my life.
First lived in the district of Pitsmoor until 24,
then moved at marriage to the district of Stannington. Married to Margaret 47 years.
Now retired but worked in the Electrical industry
in SOUTH YORKSHIRE for 53 years.Only had two jobs
in 53 years,first at 16 electrical engineer apprentice at THOMAS FIRTH and JOHN BROWNS steel
works in Sheffield,and secondly sales and Lighting Design Engineer at CROMPTON PARKINSON
LIGHTING throughout Yorkshire. Hobbies caravaning,grandchildren and Sheffield Wednesday
Football Club. First match attended September 1939 played Barnsley won 3-2 the following week
War was declared.
