I麓m 17 years old, and I live in Finland. I've always been interested in the wars my country was involved in during the second world war (the winter, continuation, and Lapland wars), and through that also became interested in the second world war as a whole. I wanted to understand how it was possible that such a large part of the world became involved in such a terrible thing as a grand scale war, especially since world war 1 should have been a horrible lesson. I have read a lot of books about the war, and think I know relatively much about it. I have found out, though, that you can never learn enough about it, since there are so many stories that can be told from so many angles. I think it's very important that these stories get told, especially now, in a time when the last veterans are still among us, so that future generations can learn about the war, and be aware of it's concequences, so that they shall not make the same mistake as to start such a war in the future.
So far I have posted one article about my grandfather's brother's experiences in the winter war, and I will keep on searching for other relatives' stories from the Finnish wars, so that they may be told.
