One of my interests in the war is what happened to my schoolgirl colleagues and friends during 1939/40 who lived in the Anglo/Catholic Home at Windermere Terrace, Liverpool 8, situated just a short distance from the entrance to Sefton Park - now has a dual carriageway right through it. Also, those girls who went to St. Edmund's College, Princes Park; were evacuated to Lytham St. Annes, Lancs., then to Towyn, Merioneth (now Gwynedd), Wales.
The Welsh house was in a lane with houses on one side only - fields opposite and at the end of the lane - only 5 mins. from the beach. We attended the Welsh village school: Christian names I remember Ivory; Olive; Morwenna. We must all be in our seventies.
