I was born in 1931 at Handsworth Sheffield.
At the begining of the war I lived at Firth Park Sheffield and went to Hucklow Road School. During the second Blitz all our family had to move because of an unexploded bomb (Land Mine) on Hucklow Road. From there after several short stays at differant relatives, we all arrived to the village of Eyam in Derbyshire, where we lived for several magic years before moving to Baslow six miles away. In this period I attended Grindleford College, and at the age of sixteen we moved once again to Curbar another Derbyshire village very close by. I look on this period of my life as a fantastic episode, meeting so many friends, some lost, but none forgoten.
