I retired recently and started to enquire into our family history and write up a family tree.
My mother and father both volunteered to act as escorts for CORB taking children to Canada. They were both on the SS Volendam when it was torpodoed in August 1940 and were picked up safely.
My mother died recently and in amongst her papers I found a file full of letters about her adventure
I would like to know much more about this incident
