If it were not for the War, I wouldn't be here: my mother and father met because they had both left their former occupations and joined the RAF, where they met and married.
My father was a Motor Transport Officer, my mother ran a Barrage Balloon Site on Clapham Common. As an accountant and a private hotelier, their peace-time selves, I don't suppose they would ever have crossed paths. No them, no me!
