I was about 17 when war broke out and I was living in North-West London. I worked as a typist for an equipment laboratory near Hatton Gardens, and also for Simplex Electric on Tottenham Court Road. I stayed in London for most of the Blitz, except towards the end where I went to stay in Newburgh, Fife in Scotland. While I was in Scotland I was called up to join the ATS, and I was posted to the Eastern and South-Eastern Weapon Training School in Dorking. I worked as secretary for the Colonel responsible for the school and I stayed there until 1946.
My stories are my own memories from this period.
