My mother, Kathy (Nee)Jones, will be 83 this year, she was born in 1921. She has often told me about her experiences during the war and I realised that these experiences needed to be recorded before it is too late and they would be lost forever. Although my mother does not enjoy good health, she is as bright as a button and has recalled so much information for me regarding our Family History. When I saw the WW2 People's War website, I thought it was a brilliant idea, and decided with my mother's permission to put her story, in her own words onto the website.
I am interested in Family history and if only I could have read stories of ordinary people from the past, especially the villages and towns where our families lived. It would be so amazing to know what life was really like for them. Alas, they didn't have the internet then.
Hopefully in the long distant future the stories on this Website will be appreciated by many, and may even help Family History research.
