I have spent the last few years following the history of former regiments of the Royal Green Jackets as part of a special project for the regiment itself. As a result of the work done so far we are running a pilgrimage tour, both to Calais and Normandy this year, 2004.
Calais 1940
I am in the process of completing the detailed story of the fighting in Calais 1940, based on original and to-date unseen documents and personal accounts.
I am keen to hear from any surviving veterans or family who have any information that may help complete the picture. Due to the nature of the battle for Calais I am looking for any survivors regardless of regiment or how they arrived in the town during May 1940.
Normandy 1944
This is a relatively new area, and I am looking for any assistance from veterans who served with the Rifle Brigade, KRRC, OBLI during the Normandy Campaign.
