This story gathering project is the result of a successful partnership between Wildern School and Hampshire Libraries. Over a period of 6 weeks the Community Department staff at Wildern School, Sandra Adams and Pat Baggott, worked with Hampshire Librarians, Mandy Axtell and Cathy Sergeant, to gather stories from local people at libraries in Eastleigh, Hedge End, West End, Netley, Fair Oak and Chandlers Ford. The response was good and many participants brought artifacts as well as stories to these events.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who participated in this project; those who shared their stories with us, Mandy Axtell and Cathy Sergeant and the librarians at the participating libraries, as well as Pat Baggott for her tireless typing of handwritten notes.
