I am researching my family history and wonder if anyone was in Germany 1946-8- possibly with the army where they would have had contact with refugees/displaced persons.
I believe my English father met my German mother there.
What were the DP camps like?
What was Germany like at the period?
Were British and Germans aloowed to socialise?
