I retired from Cadburys, Bournville in December 1980 where I worked before and after the war; becoming Stores Manager.
My war service left me with several disablements including deafness and lack of sensitivity in my feet due to malnutrition as a POW. Although I receive a small war pension it is not sufficient to allow me to cover disability allowances, whereby I've had to buy my own Scooter and pay to have my car adapted.
Despite my experiences as a POW and although now disabled to some degree I feel it is important to keep my interests going and keep active to some degree; therefore my motto is "Keep punching!"
