I grew up on the Shankill Road in Belfast during the 30's and 40's. I left there in 1955 to live in London. I was a Civil Servant for many years but am now retired and living in Kent. I still have family in Northern Ireland and visit there atleast once a year.
I married a chap from the Shankill who sadly died suddenly a few years ago.
