I am 75 years old, married to Shirley and we have a lovely family; 3 married children and 6 grandchildren (aged 5,6,7,8,16 & 18).

I am interested in the war because I was aged 9 when it started and a major part of my childhood was whilst the war was on. I was evacuated with my younger sister and brother.

I can remember being terrified at times that we would never win or that the war would drag on for ever.
