I was born in London just before the start of WW2. Most of my younger school years were during the war and education was obviously affected by regular visits to school bomb shelters.

Father was a member of the Civil Defence Rescue based in Harrow. He had previously served as a Private in the London Regiment during WW1 and was injured out after about 18 months.

My hobby has been Family History for many years and I have a poor excuse of a web page which can be found by use of a search engine
