He's the reason I'm here. He died several years ago, aged 87. I regret I didn't write down his many war time stories when he was alive. Now I'm on a quest to find out more about him and where he was in 1944.
He took part in the D-Day Landings on Sword Beach where he landed with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers on 6th June 1944.
Through sites like this one pieces of a confusing jigsaw are beginning to slot into place and I'm learning about the villages and areas of Normandy he would have visited and what action he was in.
