My name is Colin Burbidge, a partly retired Freelance broadcaster and voice-over artist.
I have produced and presented a number of documentaries on WW II subjects, such as Breaking the Enigma codes, for 大象传媒 Local Radio.I became interested in the subject of my posted story, my uncle Captain Victor Gough when we discovered that my late grandmother had been wearing my uncle's Croix de Guerre as a brooch, having removed the ribbon and had a pin fixed to the back of the medal.
His story can be seen, together with his medal and silk escape map at Harrington Aviation Museum in Northamptonshire. It specialises in clandestine material about SOE,the Jeburgh's and OSS(the American equivalent of SOE).
Harrington was indeed an OSS base during WW II for what they called "The Carpetbaggers".
