I lived through the war both as a civilian and in the Army, Royal Armoured Corps. I am submitting a story of my experiences, but am also interested in hearing of anyone who may have shared them. I am now a retired 82-year-old, leading an active life, still driving my car up and down the country to visit my family, including three grandchildren. I am still happily married to my wife who also experienced the war as a schoolgirl and student; without the war our paths would not have crossed, as we met in France after the war when we were both language students.
